Hi all. Looking to do some focused study in jazz drumming in Melbourne. Can anyone recommend a tutor or any specific books?

Perhaps Adrian? Cheers.

Hi,

Sounds like a good plan! Great books for developing independence and language are:
The Art of bop drumming – John Riley
Beyond Bop Drumming – John Riley
Syncopation for the modern drummer – Ted Reed
Advanced Techniques for the modern drummer – Jim Chaplin

Listening is also key so grab yourself some Miles Davis, Keith jarrett etc.

Shoot me an email at adrian@thedrumchannel.org for all tuition enquiries and/or tutor suggestions.
Cheers!
